Industrial Chillers in Jakarta — Installation, Service & Overhaul

The chiller is the heart of any factory or building cooling plant — and in 12 years as an HVAC engineer I have almost never seen one die without warning. There are always signs: approach temperature creeping up, compressor amps climbing, condenser pressure running high. The problem is that those signs are only visible if someone is actually recording them.

We handle air cooled and water cooled chillers from 10 TR to 500 TR: new installations, relocations, compressor overhauls, and monthly maintenance contracts with full logsheets. For temperature-critical processes — plastic injection, pharma, food processing — we also design redundancy schemes so a single faulty unit never stops the production line.

Scope of work

  • New chiller installation — foundations, chilled-water and condenser piping, electrical and control panels, insulation, through to commissioning.
  • Routine servicing — condenser and evaporator tube cleaning, refrigerant checks, oil analysis, sensor calibration, monthly logsheets.
  • Compressor overhaul — strip-down, bearing and wear-part replacement, motor megger testing for screw and scroll compressors.
  • Emergency repair — refrigerant leak diagnosis, electrical trips, water-flow problems — 24/7 for contract clients.
  • Retrofit & relocation — unit moves, refrigerant changeovers, integration with building automation systems.

Cost estimate

Baseline rates for chiller work in Jakarta, 2026:

  • Routine chiller service — from IDR 2.5 million/unit per visit, depending on capacity.
  • Monthly maintenance contract including chillers — from IDR 3.5 million/month.
  • Screw compressor overhaul — typically IDR 35–120 million depending on size and parts.
  • New installation (labour, excluding the unit) — piping and electrical usually run 15–25% of the unit price.

We work on Daikin, TICA, Midea, Gree and practically every brand on the Indonesian market. A written BoQ is free after the survey.

How we work

The workflow is identical on every project, from a shop-house to a factory — so you always know exactly where things stand:

  1. Site survey (free) — we visit, measure the area, check installation routes, electrical capacity and structure. In factories we also note the production processes that drive heat loads.
  2. BoQ & working drawings — within 2–5 working days you receive a written bill of quantity, material specifications and drawings. The price we quote is the price we invoice.
  3. Installation — K3- and BNSP-certified crews work to the agreed schedule, including nights and weekends when production cannot stop.
  4. Testing & commissioning — airflow, temperature and electrical readings are documented in a commissioning report, followed by handover with a written 12-month warranty.

Most of our chiller clients are in the Cikarang and Karawang industrial estates, plus commercial towers in Central Jakarta. A chiller works as a system with its cooling tower and AHUs — we can take over the whole plant room under one maintenance contract. Planning a new plant? Start with HVAC design.

Industrial Chillers — Common Questions

Which chiller brands do you service?
Practically all of them: Daikin, TICA, Midea, Gree, Carrier, Trane, York and others. For proprietary parts we work with each brand's official distributor.
How often should an industrial chiller be serviced?
Condenser cleaning and parameter checks ideally every 3 months; oil analysis and motor megger testing annually. Contract clients get this on a fixed schedule with logsheets.
My chiller keeps tripping — what are the usual causes?
The three most common: a fouled condenser (high pressure), reduced water flow from a blocked strainer, and drifted protection settings. On-site diagnosis usually takes 1–2 hours.
Overhaul or replace — how do I decide?
My rule of thumb: if the overhaul exceeds 40–50% of a new unit's price and the chiller is over 15 years old, replacement usually wins on energy efficiency alone. We provide the comparison in writing after inspection.
